America’s Best Racing, and handicapper (and avid gambler) Monique Vág team up to provide horseplayers with their best bets of the weekend.

Vág will identify her top picks as well as at least one longshot play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a win bet or to take a shot with a show bet. She also will occasionally look for strong exacta plays for the weekend or try to spot a nice opportunity for other wagers.

This Weekend’s Bets

This week marks the latest installment of a new series on America’s Best Racing, the Beginner’s Bet of the Week, sponsored by NYRA Bets. Each week, this blog will explore a new type of bet by explaining exactly what it is, how best to use that bet, and by putting the wager into practice in a race.

A strong field of 10 three-year-old fillies was entered for the Grade 1, $500,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes Presented by Dixiana. This race is an “invitation only” event at Keeneland and drew eight horses that have been running in North America plus two coming in from Europe off good efforts in stakes.

America’s Best Racing is excited to partner with StableDuel, a first-of-its kind platform for daily live horse racing contests. For the second year in a row, ABR will present with StableDuel a contest featuring racing at Keeneland Race Course.

With just over three weeks remaining until the Nov. 5-6 Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar, the Challenge Series is winding down. The final “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the year-end championships will take place on Wednesday at Keeneland, that being the $200,000, Grade 2 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes.
