There’s a chance a short-priced horse will win Friday’s $600,000, Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes on opening day of the Keeneland fall meet. But a longshot winner might be almost as likely an outcome.

The Grade 1, $500,000 Champagne Stakes features a field of 10 2-year-olds vying for an automatic spot in the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Juvenile presented by TAA in four weeks.

Fall racing returns to Keeneland Race Course as the annual October season gets ready to open for its 17-day meet from Friday, Oct. 4 to Saturday, Oct. 26.  Keeneland will attract big fields and quality horses to offer something for all horseplayers, including top 2-year-old racing, great turf racing, and top-rung racing and wagering at all levels in the heart of Bluegrass country in Lexington, Ky.

For the eighth year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the 2024 Triple Crown and then continuing through the 2024 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call the “Big-Race Showdown.”

There’s a lot more riding on the outcome of Saturday’s $200,000, Grade 2 Pilgrim Stakes at Belmont at the Big A than the relatively modest purse implies. As part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series, the 1 1/16-mile turf race awards a “Win and You’re In” berth to the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Nov.
