Two of the best young fillies in North America will square off for the second time in Friday’s $600,000, Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes on opening day of the widely anticipated Keeneland fall meet.

The world of horse racing is electrifying, where the thundering hooves, pulsating crowd, and allure of winning big beckon with every stride. However, actually winning big can be tough for newcomers as delving into the complex world of handicapping may feel like deciphering a cryptic code reserved for seasoned experts with a lifetime of experience.

Fall racing returns to Keeneland as the annual October season gets ready to open for its 17-raceday meet from Friday, Oct. 6 to Saturday, Oct. 28. Keeneland will attract big fields and quality horses to offer the kind of racing and wagering that befits the world epicenter of Thoroughbred horse racing in Lexington, Ky.

A dozen 2-year-old fillies will race 1 1/16 miles on turf in Wednesday’s $200,000, Grade 2 Miss Grillo Stakes at Belmont at the Big A (Aqueduct). (Note: the race was postponed from Sunday to Wednesday due to inclement weather in the forecast over ghe weekend in New York.)

For the seventh year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the 2023 Triple Crown and then continuing through the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call the “Big Race Showdown.”
