After placing in three straight stakes race during his 3-year-old season in 2023, Accidental Hero earned a breakthrough victory Sept. 16 at Hastings, where he battled gamely in the stretch to edge Sunbird by a head in the Grade 3, $125,000 British Columbia Derby.
Prior to the stakes win, the Mo Town colt ran second by a half-length in the Chris Loseth Handicap in July and third in both the BC Cup Sir Winston Churchill Derby Trial Handicap and Canadian Derby, both in August.
