Anarchist

Anarchist began his career as a 3-year-old and recorded his maiden win in his fourth career start in a 6 1/2-furlong dirt race on July 31, 2022 at Ellis Park when trained by Christopher Davis. 

Anarchist took the rest of 2022 off and was switched to the barn of trainer Doug O'Neill and brought to Southern California to begin his 4-year-old season in 2023. His first start of 2023 resulted in a second-place finish in an allowance race and began a streak of four straight runner-up finishes that included a second in the Grade 3 San Simeon Stakes on March 5 and another place in the Grade 3 Kona Gold Stakes on April 22.

Anarchist took his show on the road in his next start and got back in the winner's circle for his first career stakes win when he shipped to Canada for a win at Woodbine in the Grade 3 Jacques Cartier Stakes on May 14. He then followed that up with another second-place finish in the Grade 2 True North Stakes June 10 at Belmont.

Anarchist kept his long streak of first- or second-place graded stakes finishes alive with the biggest victory so far in his career on Aug. 26 when he won the Grade 2 $250,000 Pat O'Brien Stakes going seven furlongs at Del Mar. Sent off as the 5-2 favorite in a field of 10 in the Pat O'Brien, Anarchist stalked the pace in mid-pack, gained the lead at the top of the stretch and extended to a three-quarters of a length win in a seven-furlong winning time of 1:23.21 over a fast track.

Anarchist was bred in Kentucky by the sire Distorted Humor out of the mare Vicarious One by Elusive Quality.
