Arzak

Arzak won one of two starts as a 2-year-old in 2020, winning a three-quarter-mile maiden special weight race on the all-weather main track at Woodbine by three lengths in November.

Arzak raced nine times during his 3-year-old season in 2021 and finished in the top three on three occasions with his best effort his lone win of the year in the Tom Ridge Stakes at Presque Isle Downs.

Returning from a five-month layoff for his 4-year-old debut, Arzak won the Thorncliffe Stakes by 3 ¼ lengths at Woodbine and followed with a 1 ½-length score in the Jacques Cartier Stakes at the Ontario track in his graded stakes debut. After a runner-up finish in the Grade 2 Highlander Stakes at Woodbine, Arzak was unplaced in his final four starts of the season.

After an allowance win on the grass in his third start as a 5-year-old in 2023, Arzak struck again in graded stakes company when closing powerfully from off the pace to prevail in the $350,000 Woodford Stakes Presented by FanDuel on the Oct. 7 card Fall Stars weekend at Keeneland. He made his next start Nov. 4 at Santa Anita Park in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint and rallied into second place in early stretch before fading late in a sixth-place finish, beaten by two lengths by winner Nobals.

Arzak returned from an extended layoff April 6, 2024, at Keeneland and showed little rust despite five months away as he surged clear in the stretch of the Grade 2 Shakertown Stakes to kick off his 6-year-old campaign with a stylish, one-length victory.
