Chub Wagon

A daughter of Hey Chub out of the unraced mare Takin the Plunge, Chub Wagon made her debut in a maiden claiming race at Parx Racing on November 16, 2020. She won impressively, crossing the line 7 1/2 lengths in front while covering six furlongs in 1:11.96. That win was the 2,000th career victory for her trainer, Guadalupe Preciado.

After three consecutive allowance wins, Chub Wagon made her stakes debut against Pennsylvania-breds in the Unique Bella Stakes on April 27, 2021 at Parx. Sent off as the 0.50-1 favorite, she endured some pace pressure before drawing off to an impressive 7 1/2-length victory in 1:22.21.

Chub Wagon made her open stakes debut in the Runhappy Skipat Stakes at Pimlico on May 15. Irad Ortiz Jr elected to rate her off the pace, keeping her in third place in the early stages. Turning for home, she took her shot at the leaders, and she went by them in the stretch. She won by two lengths in a sharp 1:09.71 for six furlongs. 

Chub Wagon improved her career record to a perfect 7-for-7 in the Shine Again Stakes at Pimlico on June 13. Once again, she was rated off the lead, drafting in second behind pace-setting Hello Beautiful. In the stretch, Hello Beautiful led by a length, but under vigorous urging from Jomar Torres, Chub Wagon got up for the victory by a neck. 

Chub Wagon made it eight in a row in the Dashing Beauty Stakes at Delaware Park on July 10, going gate-to-wire and drawing off to win by 5 1/4 lengths. In her next start, she was the odds-on choice in the Dr. Teresa Garafalo Memorial Stakes at Parx on Aug. 23. In a major upset, she suffered her first defeat, finishing second, beaten 1 1/4 lengths by Don't Call Me Mary. 

Undeterred, Chub Wagon bounced back to win the Roamin Rachel Stakes on Sept. 6 at Parx. She was stretched out to two tuirns for her next start, the Plum Pretty Stakes at Parx on Sept. 25. She rated off a slow pace and had enough left late to hold off Vault for the victory. 

On June 29, 2022, Chub Wagon made her first start of the season in the Power By Far Stakes at Parx. She was the odds-on choice in the five-horse field, but had to work for the win. She rated off the lead early on and had trouble getting by early leader Hey Mamaluke. However, Chub Wagon's class ultimately won out, and she got up to prevail by three-quarters of a length.
