Clock Tower

Clock Tower, a Not This Time gelding, finished third as the favorite in his May 2024 debut sprinting at Churchill Downs, and then second when stretched out to a mile in early August at Saratoga. Both of those starts were on dirt, and trainer Wesley Ward switched him to turf for his third race, a one-mile event on turf at Kentucky Downs. Clock Tower responded with a 6 ½-length blowout win.

The gelding moved up to test stakes company after that and finished a solid third after setting the early pace in the Grade 2 Castle & Key Bourbon Stakes held at 1 1/16 miles over Keeneland’s turf in October. He then was shipped to California for a start in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes on Del Mar’s Dec. 1 closing-day card, and Clock Tower posted an easy gate-to-wire victory in the one-mile turf race, coasting home by 2 ½ lengths under John Velazquez.

Clock Tower made his 3-year-old debut in a dirt race in the Grade 3 $200,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes going one mile at Santa Anita on Feb. 1, 2025, and finished fourth in a five-horse field. As a points race on the Road to the 2025 Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, Clock Tower's fourth-place finish in the Lewis earned him four qualifying points.
