Coastal Mission compiled an impressive list of accomplishments throughout his 4-year-old season in 2023 with a total of eight victories during the calendar year including a pair of rich stakes wins at Charles Town. As a 5-year-old in 2024, Coastal Mission's winning ways continued with a victory in the $100,000 Frank Whiteley Stakes at Laurel on April 13, 2024. Coastal Mission also won the $300,000 Parx Dirt Mile Stakes on Sept. 21.

Coastal Mission scored the first graded stakes victory in his career on Oct. 26, 2024 when he won the Grade 3 $250,000 Forty Niner Stakes going one mile at Belmont at the Big A. Coastal Mission stalked the pace in an eight-horse field in the Forty Niner, gained ground throughout, challenged in the stretch, and prevailed by a length.
Coastal Mission is trained by Jeff Runco. He was bred in West Virginia by the sire Great Notion out of the mare Smart Crowd by Crowd Pleaser.
