Dream Shake

Dream Shake burst on the scene with an impressive maiden win at Santa Anita Park on Feb. 7, 2021. He went off at 20.00-1 at first asking, and rated five lengths off the pace early on. However, he made the front with a dramatic rally on the turn, and drew away to win by 4 3/4 lengths. Dream Shake went 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17.34, for trainer Peter Eurton and jockey Joel Rosario. 

Dream Shake made his graded stakes debut in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita on Mar. 6. He rated off early leader Life is Good on the inside, and held on to finish third. For that performance, Dream Shake earned ten points on the Road to the 2021 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. 

In his next start, Dream Shake finished third in the Grade 1 Runhappy Santa Anita Derby at Santa Anita Park on April 3.

Although he earned enough points to qualify for the Kentucky Derby, trainer Peter Eurton elected to pass that race and race him in the Grade 3 Pat Day Mile Stakes Presented by LG&E and KU on the Derby undercard. Dream Shake ran a strong race, battling with Jackie's Warrior in the stretch but ultimately finishing second behind that rival. Dream Shake next ran fourth in the Grade 1 Woody Stephens Stakes on the 2021 Belmont Stakes undercard before closing out the year with back-to-back unplaced finishes at Del Mar, including his first attempt on grass in the Oceanside Stakes.

Dream Shake returned from a 7 ½-month layoff with an allowance win in April 2022 at Keeneland. He next led into the stretch in the Knicks Go Stakes Presented by L&N Federal Credit Union at Churchill Downs four weeks later but faded to finish fifth in what was his final race of 2022.

Returning from 13 months on the sidelines in a June 2023 sprint race at Belmont Park, Dream Shake encountered traffic early and never was a factor. He got back on track in his next start, leading from start to finish on the synthetic main track at Woodbine in a 1 ¼-length allowance-optional claiming victory July 2.

Three weeks later, Dream Shake returned to the turf for the first time in more than two years and only the second time in his career in the Grade 2 Connaught Cup Presented by Bulliet Bourbon at Woodbine. He pressed the pace in the seven-eighths of a mile grass race and edged clear late to post a one-length victory and his first triumph in a stakes race.

Dream Shake was produced by the winning Street Cry mare Even Song, a half-sister to graded stakes winners Synchrony and Chocolate Kisses.
