Fast Boat

Fast Boat earned his first career victory in his second start, taking a 7 ½-furlong maiden special weight race on the turf by 4 ¾ lengths Dec. 8, 2017, at Gulfstream Park. He finished fourth, beaten by three-quarters of a length, in the Kitten’s Joy Stakes in his 3-year-old debut.

Over the next two seasons, he won five races at the allowance and claiming level and finished third in a stakes race in 2019 at Ellis Park.

Fast Boat got off to a promising start to his 5-year-old season when he finished second in the Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park and then third in the  Colonel Power Stakes at Fair Grounds before winning an allowance-optional claiming race in June 2020 at Churchill Downs. The City Zip gelding earned a breakthrough stakes win Jan. 31, 2021, at Sam Houston when he prevailed by a neck in the Pulse Power Turf Sprint Stakes. He followed with a determined half-length score on the Longines Kentucky Oaks undercard in the Grade 2 Twin Spires Turf Sprint Stakes presented by Sysco on April 30.

After his first graded stakes win at Churchill, Fast Boat finished sixth in the Grade 1 Jackpocket Jaipur Stakes in June. He bounced back nicely in his next start, however, saving ground in the turn and then rallying five-wide to take the Grade 3 Troy Stakes Presented by Horse Racing Ireland by a half-length at Saratoga on Aug. 6.
