Foreign Relations began his racing career as a 3-year-old with a second-place finish in a maiden race at Ellis Park on July 24, 2021. After racing only once as a 4-year-old in the 2022 calendar year, he broke his maiden in his fourth career start at the beginning of his 5-year-old season on Feb. 16, 2023, on the synthetic surface at Turfway Park.

Foreign Relations found his niche as a long-distance turf horse and earned his second career victory in a stakes race when he won the Grade 3 $225,000 Louisville Stakes at Churchill Downs on May 20, 2023. In the Louisville, Foreign Relations talked the pace, moved to the lead in the stretch and prevailed atop a 10-horse field by 1 1/2 lengths.
Foreign Relations is trained by Conor Murphy. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Karakontie out of the mare Quest by Mr. Sidney.
