Four Wheel Drive, a son of 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, earned an automatic berth to the 2019 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint with an easy three-length win in the Oct. 6 Grade 3 Futurity Stakes, a “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series qualifier. Four Wheel Drive had dominated a 5 ½-furlong maiden race at Colonial Downs on Aug. 31 to score in his career debut, and handled an extra half-furlong with ease at Belmont to improve to 2-for-2 in his young career.

In the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, Four Wheel Drive broke sharply from the gate and led from start to finish, kicking on to become American Pharoah's first Breeders' Cup winner in his first try. Four Wheel Drive was sent off as the 3-2 betting favorite.
Four Wheel Drive is owned by Mike Hall’s and Sam Ross’s Breeze Easy and trained by Wesley Ward. He is out of the stakes-winning More Than Ready dam Funfair.
