Gam's Mission

Gam’s Mission ran second in her career debut in September 2020 and then did not race again until March 20, 2021, when she won her 3-year-old bow by a neck in a 1 1/16-mile turf race at Fair Grounds. She followed with a neck win in an allowance race at the same distance May 8 at Churchill Downs.

The Noble Mission filly was tested against stakes competition for the first time May 29 in the $150,000, Grade 3 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs. She finished with a powerful rush to put away Spanish Loveaffair for a breakthrough victory.

Following the Regret win, Gam’s Mission jumped into Grade 1 company with a start in the Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes. She finished fourth, and then fifth and fourth in two more turf stakes to close out 2021.

The filly made her 4-year-old debut in the listed Tom Benson Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds in March 2022 and finished a late-closing second, and then did the same in an allowance race at Keeneland in April. She then returned to her home base of Churchill Downs and took to its new turf course with relish, rallying through the stretch to win the Grade 3 Old Forester Mint Julep Stakes by 1 ¼ lengths over Dalika. It was her third win in four career starts at Churchill.

Gam’s Mission is owned by Lazy F Ranch and trained by Cherie DeVaux. She is out of the winning War Pass mare Auntie Martha and her second dam is Grade 1 winner Auntie Mame. She is also related to $3.5 million earner and U.S. and Canadian champion Channel Maker and to Canadian champion and Grade 1 winner Johnny Bear.
