Green Light Go set a pressured pace in his career debut on July 4, 2019 at Belmont Park and powered clear late to win a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight race by 3 ¼ lengths. He tested more difficult competition in his next start in the Grade 2, $200,000 Saratoga Special Stakes Presented by Miller Lite August 10. In the Saratoga Special, Green Light Go showed a new dimension by stalking the early pace, took control entering the stretch, and then again surged clear to a dominant 3 3/4-length win under Junior Alvarado.

Green Light Go dueled with Gozilla into the stretch in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes Oct. 5 at Belmont Park and eventually wore down that foe, but he could not hold off the powerful late rally of Tiz the Law and finished a well-beaten second.
More than two years late, Green Light Go won his second career stakes race when he won the Stymie Stakes at Aqueduct on Feb. 26, 2022 as the odds-on favorite.
Stakes winner Light Green, by Pleasantly Perfect, is the dam (mother) of Green Light Go. Light Green finished second in the Grade 1 Prioress Stakes in 2009.
