Hello Beautiful

This Maryland-bred filly has done her best work in her home state. She's a perfect 7-for-7 at Laurel Park, for the wife/husband team of trainer Brittany Russell and jockey Sheldon Russell.

She won two stakes as a 2-year-old, winning the Maryland Million Lassie Stakes on Oct. 19, 2019, and the Maryland Juvenile Fillies Championship on Dec. 7, 2019. As a 3-year-old, she captured the Maryland Million Distaff on Oct. 24, 2020, and the Safely Kept Stakes on Nov. 28, 2020. On Jan. 16 of this year, she started her 4-year-old campaign with a win, taking the What a Summer Stakes. 

After finishing off the board in the Grade 3 Runhappy Barbara Fritchie Stakes in February, Hello Beautiful received some time off. She returned with a second-place finish in the Shine Again Stakes at Pimlico on June 13. 

Hello Beautiful won the Alma North Stakes at Pimlico impressively on July 31, cruising to a 3 3/4-length victory in 1:09.63 for six furlongs. That win was the 1,500th victory in Sheldon Russell's career. 

Hello Beautiful returned to Laurel Park on Sept. 18 for the Weather Vane Stakes. With Sheldon Russell on the sidelines, Jevian Toledo rode her for the first time. She blew away the field in a 10 1/4-length win, going six furlongs in 1:09.56. 

On Oct. 23, Hello Beautiful made history. With Toledo aboard, she won the Maryland Million Distaff by 3 1/2 lengths, becoming the seventh horse ever to win three Maryland Million races.
