Javanica won her second career start going a mile on the turf at Arlington International Sept. 18. She next ran second in the Glorious Song Stakes Oct. 17 at Woodbine. The Medaglia d’Oro filly was shipped west and made her graded stakes debut in the Grade 3 Jimmy Durante Stakes at Del Mar, where she rallied from seventh to finish second by a half-length to Fluffy Socks. Javanica closed out her 2-year-old season with another second in the Blue Norther Stakes Dec. 31 at Santa Anita.

Javanica shipped to Northern California for her first start as a 3-year-old, taking on males in the El Camino Real Derby, a prep race on the 2021 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve trail. She took the lead in the stretch and held on gamely late before being passed by Rombauer near the finish line for her fourth straight second-place finish.
Group 2 winner Shuruq, by Elusive Quality, is the dam (mother) of Javanica as well as multiple Grade 1-placed stakes winner Antoinette.
