Kitodan

Kitodan began his career with a series of dirt sprint outings early in the 2021 2-year-old season at Gulfstream Park, which included the maiden win at seven furlongs on July 23, 2021.

Kitodan's next successes came at the beginning of his 3-year-old campaign when he reeled off back-to-back wins at Gulfstream Park in February and March of 2022, with one win on turf and the other coming on Gulfstream's synthetic Tapata course. It was the synthetic track victory in particular that propelled Kitodan to his next start in the $200,000 Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park on April 2, which turned into the first stakes victory of the colt's career when he won off by 3 1/2 lengths in the 1 1/16-mile race. 

Kitodan added another stakes victory, this time on the turf, when he won the $200,000 Audubon at Churchill Downs at 1 1/8 miles on June 4.

On Labor Day Sept. 5 at Kentucky Downs, Kitodan not only earned the biggest payday of his career so far, but also earned his first graded stakes victory when he scored by four decisive lengths in the Grade 3 $750,000 Dueling Grounds Derby at 1 5/16 miles on the turf over a field of 12.
