Lady Mystify, a Bernardini filly owned by Exline-Border Racing, SAF Racing and Richard Hausman, finished second and third in her first two starts racing in California during winter 2020-21. On Feb. 5, 2021, she stretched out to two turns for the first time and dominated a one-mile maiden race at Santa Anita Park with an 18-length victory. She did not race again until the Del Mar summer meet, but came back sharp with a one-length win in a one-mile allowance optional claming race.

Trainer Peter Eurton next started Lady Mystify in the Grade 3 Torrey Pines Stakes at Del Mar on Aug. 21, but she finished a well-beaten fifth and was found to have bled after the race. After a five-week break, the filly resurfaced in the Grade 3 Remington Park Oaks at Remington Park in Oklahoma. With Flavien Prat riding, Lady Mystify stalked the pace and powered clear for a three-length score in the 1 1/16-mile race at odds of 6-1.
Exline-Border Racing bought Lady Mystify for $325,000 at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. April 2-year-olds in training auction in 2020. She is out of the winning Unbridled’s Song mare J. Quirk. Her second dam (maternal grandmother) is You’re Beautiful, who is a half-sister to Horse of the Year, two-time Breeders’ Cup Classic winner, and leading sire Tiznow.
