After beginning her career in Puerto Rico, where she won two graded stakes, Lucky Stride was shipped to the mainland United States in the summer of 2020. In her mainland debut, she was fifth in the Grade 3 Shuvee Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 30.

Lucky Stride won her first two races of 2021 in impressive come-from-behind style. On Jan. 16, she won the Wayward Lass Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs by 2 1/4 lengths, for trainer Mike Trombetta and jockey Antonio Gallardo. Next out, on Feb. 20, she took the Nellie Morse Stakes at Laurel Park by 1 1/4 lengths, with Julian Pimentel in the saddle. Six weeks later, she was a game third in the Top Flight Invitational at Aqueduct, recovering after an awkward break to lose by a length.
