Mo Stash

Mo Stash made a nice impression in his career debut Aug. 19, 2022, in a 2-year-old maiden race at Ellis Park, where he pressed the pace and edged runner-up Cuore Sacro by a head in a thrilling finish in a 5 ½-furlong turf race.

Unplaced in his next start Sept. 8 at Kentucky Downs, the bay colt by Mo Town showed nice improvement in his third race when finishing second by less than a length Oct. 9 at Keeneland in the $250,000 Indian Summer Stakes Presented by Keeneland Select.

Following three turf sprints to begin his career, Mo Stash stretched out for the first time in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at one mile on Nov. 4. Mo Stash pressed a live pace and held on best of the early leaders to run on for a fourth-place finish, beaten a total of three lengths.

Mo Stash made his 3-year-old debut in the one-mile Colombia Stakes March 11, 2023, at Tampa Bay Downs, where he took the lead in the stretch but faded a bit late and finished second in his first start in more than four months. He more than made amends in his second race as he set the tempo in the 1 1/16-mile, $400,000 Kentucky Utilities Transylvania Stakes and had plenty of fuel in the tank in the stretch to prevail by a length.

From the first crop of the aforementioned Grade 1 winner Mo Town, Mo Stash was produced by the Smart Strike mare Making Mark Money, who also is the dam (mother) of 2021 Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby runner-up Hidden Stash. Mo Stash is trained by Victoria Oliver.
