Mommasgottarun needed eight starts to earn her first career victory, finishing in the top three on five occasions before a front-running, six-length romp in her breakthrough win May 12, 2022, at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

After the win, the Maclean’s Music filly added a pair of victories in the final five races of her 3-year-old campaign in 2022. She won a claiming race in August at Saratoga Race Course and a starter-optional claiming race in October at the Belmont at the Big A meeting.

Linda Rice claimed Mommasgottarun out of her final start in 2022 on behalf of new owner Ronald Stewart.

Mommasgottarun won her first start for her new connections via disqualification Jan. 12 at Aqueduct in an allowance-optional claiming race at 1 1/8 miles in her first try stretching out in distance. She ran second in another allowance-optional claiming race at Aqeudcut at the same distance two weeks later before winning a one-mile race by 3 ¼ lengths on March 17 after a freshening.

Mommasgottarun was unplaced in the Top Flight Handicap April 2 at Aqueduct, where she faded late after setting the pace, but Rice tested her again against stakes competition April 7 in the Grade 3 Distaff Handicap cutting back to a seven-eighths of a mile sprint. Mommasgottarun stalked the pace from just in behind the pacesetters, swept into contentions with a five-wide rally on the turn, and took command near the eighth pole en route to a 1 1/2-length victory and her first stakes score.
