Most Wanted

Most Wanted, a Candy Ride colt owned and bred by Gary and Mary West, did not make his debut on the track until June 21, 2024, at age 3. He graduated at first asking in impressive fashion, dueling for the lead in the stretch of a seven-furlong dirt race at Churchill Downs and prevailing by a neck.

The colt made his next two starts at Ellis Park during that track’s summer 2024 meet. He won a one-turn mile allowance optional claiming race by three-quarters of a length and then, in his stakes debut, showed courage once again by holding on to a precarious lead in deep stretch and besting Not This Boy by a nose in the one-mile Ellis Park Derby.

Most Wanted was stretched out to two turns for his fourth start as he attempted to extend his unbeaten streak in the 1 1/16-mile, Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby Sept. 29 at Remington Park With regular jockey Florent Geroux in the irons, Most Wanted sat just off of the early pace set by California shipper Indispensable, took the lead in early stretch, and called on his proven competitive nature to deny a late bid from three-time stakes winner E J Won the Cup and win the $400,000 race by a length.

Kentucky-bred Most Wanted is out of the Distorted Humor mare Beach Walk and is a half-brother to Life Is Good, a four-time Grade 1 winner and earner of over $4.5 million.
