On May 30, 2022, Ocean Road picked up her first stakes win in dramatic fashion. She rallied from last to get up and win the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes at Santa Anita Park in a 5.10-1 upset.
The Irish-bred Australia filly made her first five starts in England, winning once and finishing sixth in the English Oaks. She made her North American debut in the 2021 Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf and finished a solid sixth, and then did not race again until spring 2022 where she won an allowance optional claiming race at Keeneland by a nose after a strong stretch rally.
