Rated R Superstar

Rated R Superstar finished second in his debut and broke his maiden in his next start. He then finished second in the Grade 3 Iroqouis Stakes and third in the Grade 1 Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland, the same track where he subsequently was unplaced in the Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

As a 3-year-old, Rated R Superstar needed four starts to earn his first win of 2016, an allowance victory at Churchill Downs that ended a seven-race losing skid. He followed with his first career stakes victory in the Grade 3 Carry Back Stakes in July at Gulfstream Park.

Rated R Superstar ran third three times over the next nine starts without a victory, but he got back on track in January 2018 with an allowance win at Oaklawn Park. Three starts later, he notched another graded stakes win when he rallied from last to first for a two-length score in the Grade 3 Ben Ali Stakes at Keeneland.

On Mar. 16, 2019, Rated R Superstar pulled off a 14.60-1 upset in the Essex Handicap at Oaklawn Park, coming from well behind and winning a stretch battle with Snapper Sinclair. In the 2021 edition, he once again closed well, but just missed behind Silver State. That second-place finish pushed Rated R Superstar's earnings past the $1 million mark. 

Rated R Superstar earned his first stakes win in more than two years on Aug. 20, 2021, when he won the Governor's Cup Stakes at Remington Park. He rallied from last with a strong, wide move, and got up to win by a neck. 

Rated R Superstar made his 9-year-old debut in the Fifth Season Stakes at Oaklawn on Jan. 15, 2022. He rallied wide in the stretch and got up to win in a 25.90-1 upset. He picked up another stakes victory with a come-from-behind move in the Grade 3 Essex Handicap at Oaklawn on Mar. 19.
