Ready for the Lady, a More Than Ready colt owned and bred by Charles Fipke and trained by Roger Attfield, raced six times before winning a maiden race on July 23, 2022 on turf at Woodbine. He gamely battled to win that 1 ¼-mile race by a head, and was then pointed to the Grade 3 Singspiel Stakes Sept. 18 on the same course, where he went off as a 14.30-1 longshot.
Under Emma-Jayne Wilson, Ready for the Lady rallied six wide and surged late to post a three-quarter length upset.

That mare produced Perfect Lady’s half-sister Lady Speightspeare, a Canadian champion. The extended family includes Grade 1 winners Lady Shirl, Perfect Shirl, Shirl’s Speight, and Shakespeare, among other notable horses.
