Red Ghost won her career debut by 8 ½ lengths Aug. 30, 2020, at Saratoga Race Course in a race that was originally scheduled for the turf but moved to the main track due to rain. She followed with an unplaced finish on the grass in the Untapable Stakes in September at Kentucky Downs.

Red Ghost returned from a layoff of seven months in an allowance race in April 2021 at Keeneland, where she shook free in the stretch to win by two lengths. Returning to stakes competition for the Grade 3 Miss Preakness Stakes May 14 at Pimlico, Red Ghost was passed in the stretch by two opponents but fought back gamely on the inside to post a tenacious victory by a nose.
The Ghostzapper filly became the fourth stakes winner produced by her dam (mother), Better Than Most, by Elusive Quality.
