Tenfold

Tenfold streaked to a 5 3/4-length runaway win in his career debut on Feb. 9, 2018, at Oaklawn Park. He followed with a hard-fought victory in the an allowance race in March at Oaklawn that gave trainer Steve Asmussen the confidence to enter Tenfold in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby. In the Arkansas Derby, Tenfold stalked the pace from third and came up a little  short in the stretch, fading to finish fifth of nine.

Trainer Steve Asmussen’s confidence in Tenfold did not waver after the Arkansas Derby as he pointed him to the Preakness Stakes five weeks later. Tenfold rewarded him with a gutsy effort, rallying to finish third behind Kentucky Derby winner Justify, beaten by less than a length.

After a disappointing fifth-place finish in the Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets, Tenfold bounced back in a big way in early summer in the Grade 2  Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. In the Jim Dandy, Tenfold wore down game pacesetter Flameaway in the stretch and edged away tp prevail  and earn his first career stakes win. Tenfold then finished seventh in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga and was given the rest of the year off.

Tenfold returned at age 4 in an allowance race at Fair Grounds where he finished fourth and followed that up with a seventh-place effort in the Grade 2 Oaklawn Handicap. Connections then sent him to Baltimore for the Pimlico Special, where he grabbed the lead in mid-stretch to win at odds of 5-1.

In 2020, he finished third in two graded stakes, the Grade 2 New Orleans Classic at Fair Grounds on Mar. 28, and the Grade 1 Hollywood Gold Cup at Santa Anita Park on Jun. 6. On Mar. 13, 2021, he once again finished third in the Temperence Hill Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

Tenfold is out of the winning Tapit mare Temptress, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Donegal Moon. His third dam (maternal great-grandmother) is 1995 champion turf female Possibly Perfect.
