Alex Cintron picked up his 1,000th career win July 8 at Delaware Park, where he is one of the leading riders, when he guided Lorden's Love to a victory in the fourth race.
A Bayamon, Puerto Rico native, Cintron took out his jockey's license in 2008 and earned his first stakes win in July 2011 when he rode Silver Tie Affair to a win in the Daniel Van Clief Stakes at Colonial Downs. Two years later, Cintron picked up his first graded stakes win aboard Bryan's Jewel in the Grade 3 Obeah Stakes at Delaware Park in June 2013. Cintron guided Wet Your Whistle to a victory in the Highlander Stakes June 29 at Woodbine for his first career win in a Grade 1 race.
