Undefeated four-time grade 1 winner Flightline has been on a steadily upward trajectory since days as a foal growing up on Jane Lyon’s Summer Wind Farm in Central Kentucky.

Friday, Nov. 18 is the 10th anniversary of the Sporting Art Auction, which is a collaboration between Keeneland Association and Cross Gate Gallery in Lexington, Ky. Every year Greg Ladd and his staff travel the world seeking fine examples of sporting art from both new and established painters and sculptors.  A portion of the auction proceeds benefit Keeneland’s nonprofit initiatives, which includes the Keeneland Library Foundation. 

Prince of New York, piloted by professional trainer Chris Bennings, won the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Achieve Equine, at the 2022 Thoroughbred Makeover. The achievement comes not only with the recognition of a job well done, but the liberty to choose an equine-related 501(c)3 nonprofit to receive a $2,500 donation sponsored by Achieve Equine.

At this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships, I saw Jessica Paquette everywhere I went. Sprinting from task to task, this handicapper, off-track Thoroughbred advocate, and broadcaster was a constant whirl at Keeneland, popping up in the paddock and on my social media feeds nearly simultaneously.

OwnerView announced Nov. 15 that 2022 New Owner of the Year, sponsored by 1/ST RACING, was a dead heat between Richard Dawson and Pat Kearney.
