Welfare and Safety of the Racehorse Summit to be Held at the University of Kentucky

Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation announced today that it will host the 11th Welfare and Safety of the Racehorse Summit on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The event will be co-hosted by the University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment and The Jockey Club.

The first of March brought cross-cultural fun to Oaklawn Park when a group of champion sumo wrestlers, in Hot Springs for an exhibition match over the weekend, toured the iconic Arkansas track. WinStar Farm announced today that it has secured an NIL deal with University of Kentucky basketball player Reed Sheppard to promote WinStar stallion Life Is Good.

A freshman guard for John Calipari’s Wildcats, Sheppard was Mr. Kentucky Basketball in 2023 and a McDonald’s All-American. Also honored as the 2022 Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year, Sheppard is off to a fast start for the Wildcats (20-8) this season.
