The road to the 150th Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve picks up momentum again this Saturday, March 23, after a quiet couple of weeks with two qualifying points preps scheduled.

America’s Best Racing solicited responses from our readers over social media channels in recent days asking people to chime in with their favorite racetrack in North America and why in 150 words or less.

Below is a sampling of the detailed responses from our readers. We had dozens of racetracks named from other readers who opted simply to list their favorite venue.

Note: Some of the answers have been lightly edited for clarity.

When you think of New Orleans you think of great food like crawfish boils and Po’boy sandwiches as well as jazz, the French Quarter, Mardi Gras fashion and, of course, the National Football League’s Saints.  But don’t forget about about horse racing and the Louisiana Derby.

Churchill Downs Racetrack and hospitality partner Levy have released the official on-track menu for the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. Guests at the track for Longines Kentucky Oaks on Friday, May 3 and the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 4 will enjoy bespoke food and beverage experiences that pay homage to and celebrate this global entertainment event.
