all in The Life

Edwin C. “Eddie” Cornier remembers clearly the day that changed his entire life. He was 11 years old and his mom brought him to Aqueduct Racetrack, where she worked as a groom for Joe Aquilino.

This Triple Crown season was a thrilling one, as American Pharoah captured all three jewels en route to the first Triple Crown title since 1978. The scenes at Churchill Downs and Pimlico were ones of excitement and jubilation, and the unbridled enthusiasm present all day at Belmont Park was topped off by a roaring crowd as American Pharoah crossed the finish line, a celebration unlikely to be surpassed in any sport.

Eclipse Sportswire was at all three events to photograph the fun and excitement. Browse their images in the slideshow below.

American Pharoah has a funny tail. It isn’t a normal horse tail. It’s shorter. Much shorter.
