Kendall E. Hansen

Dr. Kendall Hansen emerged as one of the most quotable voices on the 2012 Road to the Kentucky Derby after his namesake horse, Hansen, won the 2011 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs. Hansen remained a leading contender all throughout the spring, winning the Gotham Stakes and finishing second in the Holy Bull Stakes and the Blue Grass Stakes before checking in ninth in the Kentucky Derby.

Hansen owns and operates Pain Management Specialists in Crestview Hills, Ky., across the Ohio River from Cincinnati and has had a long association with Turfway Park in nearby Florence. In 2017, his horse En Hanse, by Hansen and co-owned with Olympic medal-winning skier Bode Miller, won Turfway’s WEBN Stakes for 3-year-olds. He then won the JACK Cincinnati Spiral Stakes with another Hansen colt when Fast and Accurate seized command in the stretch and prevailed by three-quarters of a length.
