You’re to Blame, a Distorted Humor colt, broke his maiden in his third start at Belmont Park in October 2016 and competed in stakes races and allowance optional claiming events over the year and a half, finishing third twice in stakes.
The Todd Pletcher trainee reached his best form that summer, winning an allowance optional claiming race at Saratoga and then shipping to Parx Racing and defeating heavy favorite War Story in the 1 ½-mile Grade 3 Greenwood Cup Stakes by a neck. He made one more start in 2018, a runner-up finish in the Temperence Hill Invitational, before taking six months off to return in April 2019.
You're to Blame made his 5-year-old debut a winning one at Oaklawn Park and then shipped to Baltimore to race in the 1 1/4-mile Pimlico Special on the Black-Eyed Susan undercard. He rallied strongly in the stretch but could only manage a second-place finish behind winner Tenfold.
