Declan Carroll comes from a horse racing family as the son of former trainer David Carroll, who currently works as assistant trainer to Mark Casse. Carroll began his riding career in fall 2018 and scored his first win at Keeneland during their fall meet.
He began to pick up business at the Fair Grounds meet during 2018-19 and after recovering from an injury enjoyed success at Ellis Park during their summer 2019 meet, finishing fourth in wins.
