The chestnut filly made her stakes debut in the Grade 2, 1 1/8-mile Demoiselle Stakes Dec. 7 at Aqueduct. Despite starting from the far outside in a field of 10, Lake Avenue seized command on the first turn and set a measured pace under Junior Alvarado. She had plenty left in the tank for the stretch and pulled away to a convincing four-length victory.
Lake Avenue picked up another stakes win in the Heavenly Prize Invitational Stakes at Aqueduct on Mar. 6, 2021. Sent off as the 0.95-1 favorite in the field of six, she drew off handily in the stretch for a powerful 6 3/4-length victory. Manny Franco had the winning mount.
