After starting his career with five straight defeats, Dyn O Mite found his best form towards the end of his 2-year-old season. He won for the first time on the grass at Golden Gate Fields on Oct. 9, stalking the pace and drawing off.
He went back to dirt for his next start, at Fair Grounds on Dec. 4, and won by a head in a hard-fought effort.

Dyn O Mite was stakes-placed on grass in each of his first two starts as a 3-year-old. On Jan. 31, he finished third in the Texas Turf Mile Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park, leading briefly in the stretch before being passed late. Next out, he finished second by a nose in the Black Gold Stakes at Fair Grounds on on Feb. 27.
