Biddy Duke

Biddy Duke needed six starts to earn her first career win after running second three times and third once in her first five races. The breakthrough first victory came by 5 ¾ length in front-running fashion Aug. 29, 2019, at Del Mar. She followed with a win in a starter-allowance race in September at Los Alamitos.

Biddy Duke subsequently was unplaced in her first two starts in stakes but she regained her winning form with a victory in December in a claiming race at Lois Alamitos.

After failing to win in her first two starts as a 3-year-old in 2020, Biddy Duke competed in a pair of Quarter-Horse races. She returned to Thoroughbred competition May 23 at Santa Anita and won a starter-optional claiming race by 1 ½ lengths.

The Bayern filly finished third in the Angels Flight Stakes and then finished second by a nose in the California Governor's Handicap. Biddy Duke followed with back-to-back allowance wins at Del Mar before trying turf for the second time in her career and running third in the Unzip Me Stakes Sept. 26 at Santa Anita.

Biddy Duke made her graded stakes debut in the Grade 3 Senator Ken Maddy Stakes Oct. 24 at Santa Anita. She set the pace under Juan Hernandez and fought gamely in the stretch to turn back a bid from Jo Jo Air and prevail by a head.
