Cover Version’s career began as a 3-year-old in 2018 but she did not score her first win until a maiden claiming race at Del Mar on Nov. 20, 2020. During her 6-year-old campaign in 2021, Cover version won a February claiming race at Santa Anita and a December allowance optional claiming race at Turf Paradise. Among her losses that year was a fifth-place finish in the Grade 1 Clement Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar.
Cover Version’s career began as a 3-year-old in 2018 but she did not score her first win until a maiden claiming race at Del Mar on Nov. 20, 2020. During her 6-year-old campaign in 2021, Cover version won a February claiming race at Santa Anita and a December allowance optional claiming race at Turf Paradise. Among her losses that year was a fifth-place finish in the Grade 1 Clement Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar. As a 7-year-old in 2022, Cover Version added another allowance optional claiming win at Turf Paradise and then ran off the board in a series of graded stakes including the Grade 2 Monrovia, the Grade 3 Santa Barbara, and the Grade 3 Great Lady M Stakes. She hit the board for the first time in a graded stakes on Aug. 28 with a third-place finish in the Grade 3 Rancho Bernardo Handicap at Del Mar. Cover Version is trained by Reed Saldana. She is a Kentucky-bred daughter of Medaglia d’Oro out of the mare Vaguely Familiar by A.P. Indy.
