After rating towards the middle of the pack in the early stages, he burst through in the stretch and pulled clear for a one-length win at 21.10-1. John Velazquez had the winning mount for trainer Joseph O'Brien, the son of legendary trainer Aiden O'Brien. The win was Joseph's third in the United States.
