A gray gelding sired by Texas Wildcatter, Uncharacteristic won his first stakes race at Assiniboia Downs, near Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Aug. 2, 2021. He won the Manitoba Derby by 1 1/4 lengths, chasing down Myopic in the last eighth of a mile for the victory. In the Grade 3 Canadian Derby at Century Mile, in Edmonton, Alberta, on Sept. 11, a similar situation played out. Uncharacteristic raliied strongly in the last eighth to win his second stakes race in a row.
