After a second-place finish in her debut on Aug. 8, 2021, Consumer Spending was the 1.65-1 favorite in a maiden special weight on turf at Saratoga on Sept. 6, 2021. She lived up to expectations, winning by 4 1/2 lengths. For her next start, Consumer Spending traveled to Laurel Park in Maryland for the Selima Stakes on Oct. 2. As the 2-5 favorite, she rallied from behind for a 2 1/2-length victory. From there, Consumer Spending was entered in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Nov. 5 at Del Mar.

She lived up to expectations, winning by 4 1/2 lengths. For her next start, Consumer Spending traveled to Laurel Park in Maryland for the Selima Stakes on Oct. 2. As the 2-5 favorite, she rallied from behind for a 2 1/2-length victory. From there, Consumer Spending was entered in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Nov. 5 at Del Mar. She rallied belatedly to finish six, beaten by less than two lengths by winner Pizza Bianca, in a field of 14 in the final start of her 2-year-old season.
The More Than Ready filly made her 3-year-old bow in the Memories of Silver Stakes April 24, 2022, at Aqueduct and closed with a rush to win by three-quarters of a length. She followed with a two-length victory as the overwhelming favorite in the Grade 3 Wonder Again Stakes June 9 at Belmont Park.
Consumer Spending rounded out her 2022 season with a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes at Belmont on July 9, and then with a fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Lake Placid Stakes at Saratoga on August 20.
Consumer Spending returned for her 4-year-old season and made her 2023 debut in the Grade 3 Beaugay Stakes on May 7 at Belmont Park and finished second. That solid return effort off the layoff sent her to Monmouth Park for her next outing which came in the Grade 3 $150,000 Eatontown Stakes going 1 1/16 miles on firm turf on June 17. Sent off as the 9-2 fourth choice on the tote board in a field of six in the Eatontown, Consumer Spending stalked mid-pack off of a slow pace and passed the front runners in deep stretch to prevail by a a length in a time of 1:42.00.
Consumer Spending won her second straight stakes race at Monmouth Park on July 22 when she scored in the $300,000 Grade 3 Winstar Matchmaker Stakes going 1 1/8 miles on the turf. Consumer Spending topped a seven-horse field as the even-money favorite on the tote board to win by a half a length in a time of 1:48.00.
