Minaret Station, a 2-year-old from the first crop of sire Instilled Regard, scored an upset win in the Castle & Key Bourbon Stakes in his third career start Oct. 6, 2024, at Keeneland Race Course and in the process earned an expenses-paid berth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Nov. 1 at Del Mar.
Minaret Station, a 2-year-old from the first crop of sire Instilled Regard, scored an upset win in the Castle & Key Bourbon Stakes in his third career start Oct. 6, 2024, at Keeneland Race Course and in the process earned an expenses-paid berth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Nov. 1 at Del Mar.
Ridden by Cristian Torres, Minaret Station saved ground and rallied past Clock Tower and golden Afternoon in the final strides to prevail by 1 ½ lengths. He had finished third and then first in his two prior starts, maiden races at Ellis Park in August and Horseshoe Indianapolis in September.
Minaret Station is out of the Sir Prancelot mare Beau Recall, who won four Grade 2 stakes races on turf and earned over $1.4 million.
