Racing has carried Blanc from his native France, to a long stint in Southern California, to the Midwest for a few years and back to California. Blanc attended apprentice jockey school in France and rode there for a few years before moving to the U.S. in October 1993. His career began in earnest in 1995, and he rode in California through 2002, moved his base of operations to Kentucky and returned to the West Coast in 2006. He is approaching 1,000 career victories and his horses have earned more than $48 million in purses.
