Thistledown Race Track was founded in 1925, and then from 1959-1999 it was operated by the DeBartolo Corp. In 1999, the track was sold to Magna Entertainment Corp and in 2010 it was purchased by Harrah's Entertainment Inc. for $43 million. On November 23, 2012, "Harrah's Entertainment Inc." officially changed its name to "Caesars Entertainment Corporation".
