Phyllis Wyeth grew up in a racing family and is married to artist James Wyeth, the son of celebrated artist Andrew Wyeth. Her family founded Hickory Tree Farm, which raced such outstanding runners as Devil's Bag, Gone West and Believe It. Wyeth suffered a broken neck in an automobile accident in 1962 and has been wheelchair-bound as a result of those injuries since 2001. She owns Point Lookout farm in Wilmington, Del., and her racing stable is named for her hometown in Pennsylvania. In 2012, her homebred Union Rags captured the Belmont Stakes.
