Live Oak Plantation

Charlotte C. Weber is the owner of Live Oak Plantation. Born November 19, 1942, in Philadelphia, Ms. Weber is the granddaughter of Campbell Soup founder John T. Dorrance and she serves as a board trustee of Campbell Soup Company. She also is a member of the board of trustees of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and provided funding for the Met Museum’s Charlotte C. Weber Galleries for the Arts of Ancient China. Ms. Weber Is a member of The Jockey Club, a board trustee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, a board member of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association and a trustee of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. In 2005, Ms. Weber was honored with the Penny Chenery Most Distinguished Woman in Racing Award.

Ms. Weber was introduced to horse racing at an early age by family members and counts women such as Penny Chenery, Betty Moran, Josephine Abercrombie, Marylou Whitney, Elizabeth Arden, and Helen Groves as major influences on her racing philosophy.

Live Oak Stud in Ocala, Fla. is the breeding operation owned by Ms. Weber and Live Oak Plantation is the nom de course of Weber’s horses on the track.

Top horses campaigned by Live Oak Plantation include Breeders' Cup Mile winner and champion turf horse Miesque's Approval and such Grade 1 winners as My Typhoon, To Honor and Serve and Zo Impressive. Live Oak earned a second Breeders' Cup win in 2017 when World Approval won the Mile by 1 1/4 lengths. World Approval is a half-brother to Weber's other Mile winner, Miesque's Approval.

In 2019, Win Win Win won the Pasco Stakes before finishing third in the Tampa Bay Derby and then second in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes to earn a starting spot in the Kentucky Derby.
