Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank bought the historic Sagamore Farm in Glyndon, Md., just outside of Baltimore, in 2007 and set about restoring its grandeur.
Sagamore was once owned by Alfred G. Vanderbilt II, one of the most important racing figures of the 20th century. It was the home of Hall of Fame horses Native Dancer, Bed o' Roses and Discovery, all of whom are buried on the property.

Plank and co-founder Jordan Lindgren, former football players at the University of Maryland, launched Under Armour in 1996. It is now an international apparel giant.
Plank is already deep into breeding with a band of broodmares. The farm foaled three in 2008, five in 2009, seven in 2010 and five in 2011. Sagamore currently has 20 horses in training. Its first star was Shared Account, who registered an upset victory in the 2010 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
