West Point Thoroughbreds has amassed more than $60 million in purses dating back to 2007, during which time they’ve captured more than 55 graded stakes.

The syndicate was named by founder Terry Finley as a tribute to his alma mater. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering at West Point in 1986 - earning a GPA that, he jokes, "was closer to the bottom of the class than the top."

Finley served as an artillery officer in the Army for eight years, attaining the rank of captain before his honorable discharge in 1994.

Finley has recently become taken with the game of soccer, thanks largely to his son Ryan’s success on the collegiate level. Ryan Finley was a star forward at Duke University, and currently is playing professionally in the USL.

West Point has campaigned Grade 1 winners Twilight Eclipse, Awesome Gem, Flashy Bull, Lear's Princess, and Macho Again. West Point also owned 2017 Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming as well as Grade 1 winners Flightline Ring Weekend, Dream Rush, Irish Smoke, and Decorated Invader in partnership and campaigned 2014 Kentucky Derby runner-up Commanding Curve.

West Point Thoroughbreds is the largest Thoroughbred partnership company in the world. The stable celebrated its 100th stakes win in February 2018.
